This month we’re looking at whole grains – what they are, why they’re superior nutritionally and how to make some easy swaps to get more of them into your diet – with enjoyment not hardship. We’ll also tell you what’s new on the Foodwatch website and for our Product of the Month we road test Barilla whole grain pasta.
Whole grains, as their name suggests, are grains that haven’t been processed to remove the outer bran layer and the germ or baby plant. They contain ALL the parts of the grain, namely the tiny but highly nutritious germ and the outer bran layers with their nutrient-rich aleurone layer.
Read more about what they can do for you and how you can make easy swaps to include them in your diet in our April Newsletter here.
