dextrose
Alternative name for the sugar glucose.
DHA
Docosahexaenoic acid. A key omega-3 fatty acid important for brain and eyes.
digestion
Mixing and breakdown of food by juices and enzymes from the stomach, pancreas, liver and intestine, to allow absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream. Carbohydrates are converted to glucose and fructose, protein to amino acids, and fat to glycerol and fatty acids.
