| hypoglycaemia |
Low level of glucose in the blood due to excess production (or overdose) of the sugar-controlling hormone insulin. Causes trembling, sweating, mental confusion and in diabetics can lead to coma. Claims that widespread hypoglycaemia is caused by processed foods, especially sugar, do not stand up to scientific scrutiny.
