The spot reducing diets are probably the most ridiculous ones. People refuse to understand that fat storage is genetically determined. So, if you have a pear-shaped body, there is no way this can actually change, except if you go through liposuction. - Katecotros

the check list is good i totally agree, but what works for one person is not forced to work for another, it boils down to motivation and will power which some people dont have so they need a little help using other options. - antjon

Thanks Darren & others. yes we DO need to spread the word about the silliness of fad diet and what a waste of time they are in the long run. Love your feedback. Cheers Catherine - Catherine Saxelby

Excellent article the word needs to get out about the dangers of fad dieting as well as the dieting pills, even if they appear to work it is short term and at what cost. - Darren

Scarsdale diet doesnt have cream and butter? l have been on it for years 2 weeks on diet then 2 weeks off. They give you a keep trim diet to follow and foods to avoid . i have lost over 3 stone and kept it off enjoying the foods l want when not on it and my weight has stayed same for over a year now l have had no side effects and have reached my goal weight taken time but have been at my goal weight for a year and it hasnt altered. So in my opion that diet is ok and there is plenty of food on it , and they dont allow you to stay on it for more than 2 weeks at a time. - sam
