I was lucky enough to score an invite to see how UNCLE TOBYS rolled oats are made. As one of a small group of media dietitians we got to see the whole oaty process from the harvested grain to the finished product being packed into the familiar 'red box'.

7 reasons why I love to drink tea

There's nothing as refreshing and relaxing as a cup of tea. It's my favourite hot drink by a long way and one I look forward to every day. I drink almost every type of tea there is. English Breakfast with milk is my favourite but I'm also partial to a delicate Ceylon and most things herbal like lemon and ginger or anything with a little peppermint. The only tea I'm not fond of is Earl Grey.

On Sunday night (4th November 2012) the Twittersphere went ballistic with hundreds of Tweeters critiquing and poking fun at celebrity chef Pete Evans’ daily diet which had appeared in Sunday Life, a supplement of The Sunday Age and The Sun-Herald. The item that came in for most derision from the My Day on a Plate feature was activated almonds. In fact it was so popular it had its own hashtag #activatedalmonds. So what are activated almonds and do they have any health benefits over and above ordinary almonds?
