Welcome to the new Foodwatch website. I'm really excited about it as it's much easier to use and to find what you're looking for with all the latest articles and reviews appearing at the top of their respective pages. Here's what's changed...

The Blog

homepageAll my articles are now to be found in the blog section. If you click on it you will see a drop down menu with all the different categories of articles such as Fast Food, Healthy Weight Loss, Hot Issues and more. The more recent the article, the closer to the top of the page it will appear. All the latest articles will also appear on the Home Page, irrespective of which category they belong to, so you'll always be able to see the latest content easily.

The Reviews

Carisma Potatoes_pack_2From time to time I see a new product that I think is important to review and let you know how it stacks up nutritionally and for convenience and taste.

You'll find all my reviews in this section. Occasionally manufacturers ask me to review a product and I charge them for this service but it's important to note here that payment for review does NOT guarantee a good review. At Foodwatch we always "tell it like it is".

The FAQs

yoghurt greek_styleThe FAQs have their own section and here you can find the answers to many nutritional problems such as "How can a product be labelled 'cholesterol free' if it’s high in fat?" and "What is the difference between Greek yoghurt and natural yoghurt?". I've organised the FAQs into nine sub-sections to make it easier to find what you're looking for. These sub-sections are:

  • Special diets for medical problems (19 answers)
  • Food in Focus (23 answers)
  • Keeping food safe (9 answers)
  • Fats and oils (9 answers)
  • Eating to boost energy (3 answers)
  • Feeding kids (18 answers)
  • FAQs - Additives & food labels (11 answers)
  • Nutrients you need (17 answers)
  • Drinks (10 answers)

The Recipes

rice-stuffed-capsicumsOf course we also have  our popular recipe section. This is still being tweaked with new, clearer photos currently being added. However, we wanted to make the site live and we didn't want to hold back until this section was complete. So please bear with us as we continue to improve it.

The recipes can be searched using the Alphabetic Search at the top of the section or by  Nutritional Rating, Allergy/Intolerance, Cuisine, Main Ingredient, Cooking Method, Course/Dish and Difficulty.

How to find what you're looking for

Tags2We have a comprehensive search function and you can find the search box in the top of the right column. Also in the right column you can see a list of tags used to classify the articles. The larger the tag the more times it has been used. If you click on one of the tags you will get a list of all articles tagged with that word. So if you click on weight loss, for example, you will get a list of all articles that deal with this subject.

The Article Footer

Beneath the body of the article you'll find some info about Catherine Saxelby, an opportunity to sign up for the Foodwatch Newsletter and links to any Downloads/Fact Sheets and related articles.

Thanks for your patience and continued support

I hope that you'll be patient as we deal with the inevitable teething problems that new technology brings  and please contact us with any feedback you have. We love to hear from you.

Yours in Good Health

    Hi Catherine!
I'm a bit behind here -- I saw via Twitter that you'd launched a newly revamped site a few weeks ago and I've been meaning to have a look. And WOW it's so fantastic! I love it - so clean, modern and simple.
    Congratulations x
